Dr Ngwashi Christabel is FOMAB Foundation’s Board Chair

Dr Ngwashi Christabel is a medical doctor and global health specialist with over 6 years experience delivering clinical care, building capacity of health providers, managing public health programs and advising public and private stakeholder on how to tackle health system challenges.

She has demonstrated passion and experience in Maternal and Child Health; she was a trainer for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics deployed by the American Association of Family physicians, she also designed the strategy to help a West African Country half maternal deaths, and she founded Healthsavi a health communication platform that helps adults (including mothers) become savvy about their health.

She currently works as a Health Specialist (Young Professional) in the The World Bank Group where she helps governments in Europe and Central Asia to address their biggest health challenges. She is on a personal mission to build resilient health systems that function at the intersection of sustainable financing, digital innovation, evidence based policies and prioritization of patient-centered and community-based care.

In her words, ‘ I am honored to be elected as the Chair of the Board of this foundation which is on track to becoming Cameroon and Africa’s most influential and impactful grassroot organisation addressing maternal and neonatal deaths. I have no doubt that with the support of the other board members who gave me their vote of confidence and the team members, we will ensure no mother or child in Cameroon and Africa dies from preventable causes.”
