On Thursday 27th July, 2023 For Mom and Baby Foundation had a meeting with 15 Community Health Workers from the various target communities we are currently working with in the Buea Health District.
CHWs have enormous potential to extend health care services to vulnerable populations, such as communities living in remote areas and historically marginalized people, to meet unmet health needs in a culturally appropriate manner, improve access to services, address inequities in health status and improve health system performance and efficiency. FOMAB Foundation strongly believes that working closely with them will increase our impact as it will enable us reach out to many more vulnerable pregnant women and young girls in the community.
We planned on carrying out a community health Outreach in each of the selected communities so as to educate the women on their health and encourage them to visit their health centers regularly.
We had a great time with them as we equally enjoyed discussing about their passion for the community. We are thankful to the Community Chiefs, the hospital Chief of Centers and to our invaluable Team Members.
